Human Trafficking In Thailand

It has come to my attention the issue of Human Trafficking in Thailand is rampant among young children being sold by their parents and/or guardians. This must cease and desist now!

Hundreds of thousands of men and women in northern Thailand are captured each year and forced to work in farms, sweatshops and brothels, according to Humantrafficking.org. Malarin Visetrojana, English as a Second Language student from Bangkok, Thailand, said children especially are captured by this trap. In the rural northern regions, many families are so poor that instead of sending their children to school, they send them to cities to work as servants for the rich. Sometimes, "middlemen" approach a child's parents, pretending to represent a wealthy family in search of help.

In the 1980's is when Thailand began to see pedophiles beginning to visit the country. They saw Thailand as the haven for sexual acts against young children mostly because of corrupt local officials who were willing to look the other way. Sexual predators from countries such as the U.S, France, Ireland and many others are flocking to countries like Thailand to take advantage of these girls. Crimes against children in Thailand has become so rampant that it is so much more than the government can handle now. There have been approximately 80,000 women and children sold into the sex slave trade since 1990 and is a eight billion dollar annual business for Thailand.

A friend of mine had a horrifying experience while visiting Thailand this past year. She proceeded to tell me that she met one gentleman from Germany; a very wealthy married man, supplying a Thai family with a beautiful home and all the luxuries one would certainly wish for in life. However, this man was sexually exploiting the couple's 9 year old son into prostitution and engaging in sexual practices with himself. This is extremely unlawful, ungodly, inappropriate, and harsh behavior which must be stopped NOW!!! My heart goes out to each and every family that engages in such horrific behavior for their monetary gain.

I believe in the power of Jesus Christ and HIS word. I believe with prayer and faith and good missionary workers in Thailand this can be brought down and more individuals will be brought to justice for such lewd acts and sexual crimes against young children.

We must as a nation, raise out voices and let out government know that the fight against sex trafficking should NOT be against the children forced into sexual slavery by their traffickers. Instead, we should be enforcing stronger penalties on the buyers, who are rarely arrested or prosecuted for their actions!!!
